Business Video Conferencing Phones
Video conference phones are used in the business field for remote conferencing. They allow users to transfer voice signal along the visual audio mode. Corded video conference phones and cordless video conference phones are the two main types of business video conferencing phones available in the market.
The corded expandable business video conferencing phone provides full duplex audio in small conference rooms as a single unit, and in larger rooms as an expanded system. Most of the expandable video phones feature automatic level controls, three microphones, noise cancellation, speed dial and recording output on base unit with base unit dimensions of 4.25 x 5.5 x 2.5.
A cordless video phone is a high performance wireless conferencing phone. It provides clear, full duplex audio and video in small conference rooms with up to eight participants. Wireless phones eliminate restrictions imposed by wires. The use of 2.4GHz WDCT (Worldwide Digital Communications Technology) in wireless phones makes it easier to connect to an unlimited number of participants. Most of the wireless conferencing phones feature digital spread spectrum, 150 ft wireless signal range, up to 8 hours of talk time, dual function power supply/charger, 4 hour charging time, automatic power save mode and 360 degree microphone coverage.
The Internet phone is another type of business conference phone. The services include video conferencing, voice messaging, simultaneous voice and data connections, document conferencing, text chat mode, web integration and file transfer. With a full duplex sound card, the internet phone allows full duplex voice conversations.
The Web Phone is also a business conference phone. It has full duplex operation with an appropriate sound card. Other features include voice mail, call transferring and even video send and receive capabilities.
The minimum required components at each end terminal of a business video conference are a microphone, a camera, a codec, a monitor and a speaker. The microphone and camera capture the image and sound. The codec converts the video and audio into digital signals, encodes them and transmits them. The codec at the other terminal decodes the signals and distributes the video and audio to the monitor and speaker.
The use of phones in business conferences reduces the travel time, thereby increasing productivity. Communications with remotely available experts is yet another advantage of business video conferencing phones.
