Traffic Generation - How to Get Free Traffic To Your Web Site

When you are first starting online, you get bombarded with sales letters from people trying to sell you traffic. Cheap traffic at that. The problem with cheap traffic is that it ischeap. Thats right it is usually really low quality.

So avoid cheap traffic.

So what are my top 4 sources of free, quality traffic? Note I am talking about quality traffic. Quality traffic is traffic that is interested in what you have to sell.

These are my top 4 forms of free traffic:

Article marketing

Joint ventures

Press releases

SEO

By the way, if I was willing to include sources that do not produce quality traffic, I could make my list much longer.

But I dont want to. I only want to give you sources of traffic that will really pull for you. Pull quality, not just numbers.

So how do you do it?

1) Article marketing. Write articles about things buyers on your email list or web site might be interested in. Put a link to your web site in the article or the bio at the end. Submit your articles to the various online article directories.

2) Joint venture. Swap campaigns with other marketers in your niche. Offer to mail their offer to your list, in exchange for mailing your offer to their list.

3) Press releases. Everytime you write a new ebook, write a press release. A press release is similar to an article, but instead of writing about anything keep it focused on new products and ebooks.

4) SEO. SEO stands for search engine optimization, and seo traffic is generally traffic that comes to you via search engine. Although this traffic can be obtained free, sometimes it takes time (usually it takes time) to get the search engines to start sending people to your site. Two things are important on-page optimization, which basically involves using your keywords in strategic locations on your web site, and off-page optimization, which basically includes building inbound links to your web site. Of course, one of my favorite ways of doing this is writing articles and posting them online.
